Roster managers and supervisors can quickly staff all shifts according to skill set, availability, department and more. Using a solution that can access workforce skills accurately is crucial in creating an efficient and optimal roster.
Shift managers or supervisors at any time can view an up to date and eligible data list which includes employees and their skill sets. This data can be used to determine if teams, shifts, and departments are adequately staffed.
In the event of a partially incomplete roster, the roster can be fulfilled by a manager manually, by searching the database for on-site employees with the required skill sets.
The skills matrix enables users to track and update training and can be programmed to notify users when an employee requires additional training.
Managers can add or edit a new skill code to the matrix by simply clicking the ‘Add Skill’ function. Managers can filter the matrix by skill (to show a subset of skills) and the system will display the filtered result set.
The Benefits of Scheduling by Skillset
- Assess the skill sets of teams, shifts, and departments, and make adjustments as needed.
- Increase shift efficiency using employees with the desired skills.
- Identify employees with specialist skill sets.
- Ensure that employee training and certification is always up to date.
The skill Matrix function is a key component of our roster solution. Matching the correct employees with each shift requirement is essential to reducing administration, boosting productivity and efficiency, and improving overall profits.
